Bitumen

Bitumen is a viscous dark-colored material obtained from the processing of crude oil. Due to its high adhesion to mineral materials, water resistance, and durability against atmospheric effects, bitumen is widely used in construction and road works.

Applications:

• Road surfacing (hot mix asphalt — HMA)

• Waterproofing

• Production of roofing materials, bituminous mastics, and emulsions

Key quality indicators:

• Softening point (Ring and Ball): ≥ 42 °C (depending on the grade — up to 55–65 °C and higher for modified bitumens)

• Penetration (needle penetration at +25 °C): 20–220 × 0.1 mm (according to EN 12591, depending on the bitumen class)

• Water content: ≤ 0.2 %

• Solubility in organic solvent: ≥ 99 %

• Appearance: homogeneous dark viscous liquid without foreign inclusions

Production technology:

• Continuous oxidation of vacuum residue using the patented BITUROX® technology

Compliance:

• Standard EN 12591:2019
• Suitable for all climatic zones in Europe, including temperate and continental regions
