Carbon dioxide is a colorless, non-toxic, odorless gas that does not support combustion. It is used in the food, medical, metallurgical, welding, and chemical industries. In the food industry, it is labeled as additive E290.
Applications: Carbonation of beverages, production of dry ice, welding (protective atmosphere), cooling, food storage, fire suppression systems.
